What is Midjourney?
Midjourney v8.2 Preview is an early-access aesthetic upgrade over v8.1, with stronger material lighting, cleaner local detail and improved character consistency. Because it is a preview, its behavior may still change; v8.1 remains available for production work and v7 remains available for its established look. All three run on FlyAIgh without Discord or a separate Midjourney subscription.
Midjourney does not expose a conventional 1K / 2K / 4K output picker. FlyAIgh maps the v8.x controls to Draft (6 credits) and Fast (8 credits); v7 offers Draft, Fast and Turbo at a flat 6 credits.
Seven aspect ratios are supported: 1:1, 16:9, 9:16, 4:3, 3:4, 3:2 and 2:3. Text-to-image and image-reference generation are both available, with one reference image per request.
Midjourney is particularly strong at distinctive artistic style, composition, atmosphere and stylized illustration. It is weaker than GPT Image 2 for in-image text and weaker than WAN 2.7 Pro for explicit 4K output control. Pick Midjourney when the aesthetic itself is the deliverable.
