什麼是 GPT Image?

GPT Image 2.5 is OpenAI's current image generation family and the strongest option on FlyAIgh for any image where readable text is part of the deliverable — posters, ad creatives, product labels, slide graphics, infographics. Where most image models render text as noisy lookalike glyphs, it produces clean letterforms that match what you typed.

It ships in two lines that cost exactly the same. **Sunburst** is the finest line: the one to pick when the lettering has to be exact, the layout is complex, or you are rendering at the Max quality tier. **Flare** is the fast everyday line for quick, stable edits. They differ in model behaviour, not in billing — there is no premium to pay for choosing Sunburst.

Both lines take five quality tiers (Low, Medium, High, Extra high, Max), render at 1K, 2K or 4K, and support 15 aspect ratios from 1:1 through 21:9 and 1:3. Both do text-to-image and image editing, accepting up to 16 reference images in edit mode, and both can output a transparent background.

Pricing is token-based, so the credit cost moves with what you ask for rather than sitting at a flat rate. At Low or Medium quality a 1K image is 1 credit; High 2K is 7; Max 4K at 1:1 is 40. Each reference image adds roughly half a credit. **One effect worth knowing: aspect ratio changes the price**, because a square image spends the full pixel budget and a wide one does not — at Max 4K, 1:1 costs 40 credits while 21:9 costs 14. Symmetric ratios cost the same (16:9 and 9:16 are identical). The exact total is always shown before you generate.

GPT Image 2, the previous generation, remains available on the same page at 2 credits per image with 4 reference images and five aspect ratios. Pick it when the job is simple and cost per image matters more than resolution or layout control.

The family is particularly strong at faces, hands, on-image text, structured layouts and any prompt with explicit lettering ('a poster that reads ...'). It is weaker than Midjourney v7 for distinctive artistic style. On FlyAIgh it ships under the same credit wallet as every other model — no separate OpenAI subscription or API key.

GPT Image 常見問題

What is GPT Image 2.5?+
GPT Image 2.5 is OpenAI's current image generation model, shipped in two lines — Sunburst and Flare — that cost the same and differ in behaviour. Both render at up to 4K across five quality tiers and 15 aspect ratios, edit with up to 16 reference images, and can output a transparent background. On FlyAIgh it starts at 1 credit per image with no OpenAI subscription or API key.
What is the difference between GPT Image 2.5 Sunburst and Flare?+
Behaviour, not price — they bill identically. Sunburst is the finer line: pick it when lettering has to be exact, the layout is complex, or you are rendering at the Max quality tier. Flare is the fast everyday line, suited to quick and stable edits. Because there is no cost difference, the only question is whether the shot needs Sunburst's precision or Flare's speed.
How much does GPT Image 2.5 cost?+
It is billed by tokens, so the price moves with the request rather than sitting flat. At 1:1: Low or Medium at 1K is 1 credit, High at 2K is 7, Extra high at 4K is 18, and Max at 4K is 40. Each reference image adds about half a credit, and prompt length is negligible. The exact total is shown before you generate.
Does aspect ratio change the price of a GPT Image 2.5 image?+
Yes, and it is easy to miss — a square image spends the full pixel budget while a wide one does not. At Max quality and 4K, a 1:1 image costs 40 credits and a 21:9 image costs 14. Symmetric ratios are identical, so 16:9 and 9:16 cost the same. We measured every combination against the supplier's own estimator rather than taking the schema's word for it: the schema flags aspect ratio as not price-related, and that is wrong.
Does GPT Image support a transparent background?+
Yes on GPT Image 2.5 — both Sunburst and Flare have a transparent background toggle, which is what you want for logos, stickers, product cut-outs and anything destined to be composited. GPT Image 2 does not offer it.
How many reference images can GPT Image 2.5 edit with?+
Up to 16 on GPT Image 2.5, against 4 on GPT Image 2. In edit mode you supply the references plus a text instruction and the model returns a modified version. Each reference adds roughly half a credit to the total.
Why is GPT Image better at text in images?+
The underlying model was trained with stronger emphasis on character-level fidelity for in-image text. Most image models treat text as a visual texture and produce lookalike glyphs; GPT Image produces real readable letterforms that match the prompt.
Is GPT Image 2 still available?+
Yes, on the same page and at 2 credits per image flat. It takes 4 reference images and five aspect ratios, against 16 and 15 on 2.5, and has no transparent-background option. It remains the cheaper pick for simple jobs where resolution and layout control do not matter.
